Happy Birthday Jane! 青春常在!身体健康!
The weather is getting warmer and warmer. Last week I saw my peonies in my frond yard, couldn't wait to pop out their red tiny little heads. My tulips are already 1 inch height. After long, cold, white and grey winter, the most exiting season is coming.
People often ask me: what do you like about Montreal? I always tell them: I like Montreal's four seasons, there is always something to expect: after 5-6 months of cold winter, I can't wait to see baby green on the trees and in my garden, refreshing smell of mud, grass and early spring blooming peonies and magnolia; then I want to stay in the heat working in my garden, talking and singing for my vegetables, watch them grow; then is the harvest and most colorful season, the golden yellow and the dark red..., and rolling in the piles of leaves with Oscar and Cali; then again the cold, slippery and white winter. You never know what next season will turn to: too cold, too hot, too dry or too wet, because every year is different. Somehow, there is always hope for a good season.
Last weekend Victor and I went to Canadian Tire bought some soil. I need to seed my vegetables. I am already late.
Two weeks ago, I called Jane to wish her happy birthday. Oops, she follows Chinese lunar calendar. It changes every year. When we were chatting, peonies’ smell pop into my mind. I want to make a peony cake for her birthday.
