Princess Cake

Happy birthday Portia!

This cake was not easy.  First part was the face and upper body.  It took me almost hour to form this part.  Then I left it dry overnight.  The next day, I drew the eyes and lips.  Victor said her eyes are not very nice.

Montreal constantly rained for almost one month. The humility is so high.  All my fondant are sweating and extremely sticky.  It was so hard to shape anything.  I had to turn on A/C to lower down the humility (even it's not hot).

This Princess cake took me so long.  I was so frustrated.  But when I saw Portia's face when she came over pick up the cake with her mother, every hard work is worth.  She even sang a song for me (小二郎).

An absolute masterpiece. Beautiful. Congratulations you have progressed to an even greater level. Sheila I think you can really do this not only as a hobby but also as a profession or business. You should start looking into professional baking classes to learn more baking techniques and at the same time get official recognition. I think you will breeze through the classes in no time at all and will enjoy the baking part as well. You will then be able to offer not only different shapes of cakes and fantastic and original decorating designs but also different cake types and different cream/icing types. Your masterpieces will then be exquisite and unique inside and out.
    Congratulations.

    1. Thank you so much Antonietta. Thank you for being there with me to search the figures. It gave me a lot of ideas. Remember the doll we bought which I planned to use on this cake. I did not like it. The smell of plastic is so strong. So I decided to make my own.

Sheila how many pieces of cake do you think can be served with this cake?

    1. It’s approximate 3 layers cake. First I used one doll baking pan. But it was not tall enough, so I baked another one 8” cake for the base. I think it’s about 15 to 20 servings.
