Canadian Rockies - Lake Minnewanka & Johnston Canyon

Lake Minnewanka 是我们此次班芙之行所看到的最大的湖。景点已经关闭，一眼望过去就只有我们三个在此漫步。没有一点儿风，湖水是那么的宁静，像是熟睡的睡美人。我们本来可以多呆一会儿，但又下起雨了。

Johnston Canyon 是在 Bow Valley Parkway上的景点之一，也是信息中心的工作人员所推荐的“必到此一游”的景点之一。这个景点有两个瀑布和一个山顶湖: Lower Falls, Upper Falls and Inkpots.  景点要徒步爬山7.6 公里。我爸76岁，我妈70岁。我们到达景点时已快下午5点，我有点担心我们游不完这个景点。 “试一试，我们走到哪算哪。”我妈说。

傍晚太阳已翻到山的那边。大半个小时后我们来到 Lower Falls。虽然光线已暗淡但还是可以感受到瀑布的壮美。我们就地休息。看见两个女的下山来，我上前询问此处离 Upper Falls 还有多远。“不远，就15分钟。” 近20分钟的行军后，我们并没有看见 Upper Falls。爸妈已上气不接下气，还有多远啊？我又问了个下山的路人：“不远，就15分钟。”  “啊！还有15分钟！老外也太没有时间观念了吧。”爸爸喘着 气。 都到这儿了，咬咬牙拼了。又走了近20分钟我们终于来到 Upper Falls。

天已黑下来，不知道还有多久才到 Inkpots。 我们在 Upper Falls 休息时有一对中年夫妇从山上下来。 看上去就知道是登山常客。我迎了上去：“到 Inkpots 还远吗？”  “至少一个半小时，而且有段路很陡。这么晚了你们可能来不及上去了。”  看到我身边的两个老人，丈夫很诚恳的解释道。“太可惜了，听说上面的湖非 常美。”  “美极了，我们有很多相片。”  说着丈夫拿出相机一幅一幅展示给我们看，妻子在一旁还边解释着每幅照片。多么友善的夫妇啊。 妈妈说：“下次和 Victor 一起来，把这个遗憾补上。”

我们虽然没有蹬上山顶，但以爸妈的年纪能到达这里，已非常了不起了。一路游来，还没有遇见像他们这把年纪徒步登山的。 我为他们感到自豪。


Lake Minnewanka is the largest lake we've seen in Banff National Park. The Lake was so calm, like sleeping beauty.  Not only the lake was so peaceful, nobody was even around, only three of us.  We could've stayed longer here. But it started rain again.

Johnston Canyon is a stop on Bow Valley Parkway.  The lady at information center told us: you have to go there.  There are two falls and beautiful lake in the canyon: Lower Falls, Upper Falls and Inkpots.  It's 7.6 kilometers hiking up to the mountain.  My father is 76 years old, my mother is 70 years old.  I wasn't sure if they could do this.  And it was 5pm, it's getting dark soon.  My mother said: "Let's try, wherever we can reach."  After one hour hiking, we reached Upper Falls.  That was a quite walk up to the mountain, specially for their age.  The sun went down.  While we were resting, a couple were coming down.  I asked them how far to get Inkpots from here.  They said at least one and half hours.  They saw I was with two seniors: they probably can't make it.  Then they showed us the pictures they took at Inkpots.  It was very nice of them.  The views were amazing.  My mother said: next time you can come here with Victor to make it up.  Even we didn't make to the top, but I am so proud of my parents could make so far.
